Whether you are a family member or friend of someone who is abusing drugs, you have to know the common signs of lortab use and symptoms, so that you can intervene and help the individual who is using. Regardless of what they are taking the medication for, it is possible to note the signs of lortab use, and to judge whether or not someone is using the drug for recreational purposes, as opposed to using them for the pain, or for the other intended purpose for which the lortab was prescribed to them. So, if you do notice any of the common signs of lortab use, you do have to step in, and you do have to discuss the dangers of use, and you may also want to consider offering assistance and suggesting the possibility of the user going in to a rehab facility to treat the problem.
Some of the most common signs of lortab use include: drowsiness, anxiety, unusual fatigue or tiredness, change of mood for no reason, itching, hearing loss, or decreased mental and physical capacities. There are other signs that are not as common, some which include: constipation, difficulty urinating, fear, skin rash or lesions, or restlessness. The more of these signs you notice, and the more it seems as if the user is changing their mood and attitude for no reason at all, the more likely it is that they are using and abusing the drug. So, knowing what these signs are, and knowing how to spot them immediately, will be some things of importance if you do want to help the individual who is using and abusing the drugs, and if you want to help get them clean, without possibly pushing them away.
In many cases, users will feel threatened, if you do not properly approach them when offering help. So, if these signs of lortab use are noticed, you do not want to sound condescending, or blame the user; instead, you are going to want to be supportive, and you are going to want to show them that you are there for them, and willing to help them in any way possible, so that they can get past the addiction, and fight the problems they are having, without having to turn to the drugs and abuse them. The more you insist, in a positive manner, the more likely it is that you are going to get the user to agree to the help you are offering.
Many common signs of lortab use, are also common for other drugs. So, you have to keep an eye out on individuals who are using these medications, in order to ensure they are not overdosing and abusing the drugs. Knowing what to look for, and spotting it as early on as possible, are probably the best ways to deal with the addiction, and to help the user get past the addiction they are dealing with.
